The baptism sponsors were John Sheehy and Ellen Nestor. At age 17 (1892) Bill left Duncaha, County Limerick and emigrated to New Zealand. He possibly stayed with his uncle, Thomas Nestor, who was living at Palmerston NZ. He arrived in Melbourne 1895.
