Jim was born in Somerville and formerly of Toby Hanna, PA before moving back to Somerville in 1998. He started his career as a master mechanic for American Cyanamid. He then worked for Recon Systems in Raritan and then as a service manager for MPA in Hillsborough. He was very active coaching both the Somerville Pop Warner and Somerville Baseball teams. In his spare time he enjoyed bowling and was an avid sportsman. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
He is predeceased by his mother Catherine who died in 1990.
Surviving are his wife of 27 years, Nancy Cosimo, his children, Michael, Jimmy, Cristina and Andrea, brothers Tom and Matt Terris, his sisters Betty Jean Pruess and Cathy Allen, and his father Metro Terris.
Prayers will be said 8:30am Monday at the Bruce C. VanArsdale Funeral Home, 111 N. Gaston Ave. Somerville, 908-725-3111 followed by a mass at 9:30am at Immaculate Conception Church, Somerville. Interment will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hillsborough.
Visitation will be 2-6pm Sunday at the funeral home.
