White notches 3 in Venice's victory
CLASS 5A-3: Indians advance to regional semis at Freedom

VENICE - After scoring her third goal, Kelly White looked embarrassed.
"I was just happy and shocked," said White, who gave that Michael Jordan shrug to the bench, as if everything was going her way. "I just happened to be there at the right time."
Entering with five goals for the season, the sophomore midfielder notched the first three for Venice in a 4-1 victory over Tampa Hillsborough in the Class 5A-Region 3 quarterfinals Thursday night at Powell-Davis Stadium.
The Indians (15-5-3) travel Tuesday to Tampa Freedom, a 5-0 winner over Manatee, for the 5A-3 semifinal.
Against a Terriers' side that did not launch a shot in a 5-0 district final loss to Tampa Freedom, Venice found itself in a scoreless deadlock at halftime. The Indians owned a 20-3 edge in shots, including 11-2 on goal, but were stifled by lanky goaltender Amber Davis.
"They were just hanging around," Indians coach Sheldon Chamberlain said of Hillsborough (7-4-2). "We were getting there, but we weren't changing the ball fast enough to mess their defense up."
Pinching in from the left side, White put the finishing touches on attacks that began on the the right flank.
About a foot shorter than Davis, White opened the scoring in the 43 minute by knocking in the rebound of a Dana LaRocque shot after a cross from Tina Trujic.
After Hillsborough's Alexa Morse came back with the tying goal three minutes later, White struck again on a pass from Colleen Murphy with Davis out of position.
