In 1923, Andrew Tichansky worked in a lumber yard in Bound Brook, NJ. He constantly was lifting heavy lumber and block. He developed a hernia and checked into Somerset Hospital for a small operation to correct his hernia. After a few days recovering, his wife Lucy Pendris was contacted to come pick him up and bring him home. When he went to leave the hospital he started coughing up blood. Later that day he died. He was diagnoised as having pheumonia. He left behind his wife Lucy and 5 children. Their ages ran from 7 to 1. This story was supplied to me by Steve Tichansky his son on Aug 8, 2009 at Steve's 88th birthday party at Cheryl (Daughter of Mary Tichansky, Steves sister) and Mike's home. Steve was 2 years old when his dad passed away.
