     Ellen Cummane was christened on 11 September 1870 at Moneymohill, nr Ballyhahill, Kilcolman/Coolcappa, Co Limerick, Ireland; the exact relationship between the family and the baptism sponsors, Maria Pierce #1062 and Denis Sheehy #3334 is unknown -- but it is assumed they are closely related.1,2,3,4 She was the daughter of Daniel Cummane and Mary Sheehy. Ellen Cummane died, at USA.
Ellen Cummane emigrated to USA, possibly c1900. She visited relatives in Australia in the late 1930s [see notes in a letter from Mr William Blackley]. She smuggled a canary into Australia in her underwear.
